In Print Perspective

As you enjoy your coffee today before heading off to the last day of the 75th Annual Plaza Arts Fair, be sure to check out Alice Thorson's piece on the Kansas City Sculpture Park in the Kansas City Star. She explores the sculptures, the artists and the plantings in the Park in preparation for next Saturday's reopening. The online version of the article also includes footage of Judith Shea's piece Storage being installed and a interview with Jan Schall, Sander Sosland Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art.

marie watson:

I want to know when the photography exhibit will be open. And if there is a handicap entrance to the building.

Jodi Olson-Kidney:

Marie - the exhbition of the Hallmark Photographic Collection will begin when the new Bloch Building opens on June 9, 2007. The first exhibition is Developing Greatness: The Origins of American Photography, 1839-1885. It will close on January 8, 2008.

Currently, the handicap entrance is on the west side of the Nelson-Atkins Building off Oak Street. When the Bloch Building opens, there will be a handicap entrance from the parking garage.
