Gather with friends for an art excursion! Groups of 6 or more may schedule a free docent-led tour of the Museum’s collections. Tours are one hour and 15 minutes and are free. Follow these steps to schedule your tour.
SCHEDULING YOUR TOUR
STEP 1: Select your tour from the list below. Click on the title for a description of the tour.
Step 2: Submit an online request form at least three weeks before your Museum visit.
If your requested dates are not available you will be contacted by email or phone within 5 business days.
Step 3: Within two weeks of your request you will be mailed confirmation letter with your scheduled date and time. Please review your confirmation as soon as it arrives.
TOURS ARE AVAILABLE DURING MUSEUM HOURS
General Public Hours:
Wed, 10 a.m.—4 p.m.
Thurs, Fri, 10 a.m.—9 p.m.
Sat, 10 a.m.—5 p.m.
Sun, Noon—5 p.m.
We cannot schedule a tour less than an hour prior to closing.
Cost FREE
Group Size A minimum of 6 adults are needed to schedule a docent-led tour. Maximum numbers for tours are listed in the tour descriptions below.
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
Please email the tour office with cancellations and any changes regarding the number of adults in your group. Tours@nelson-atkins.org
INCLEMENT WEATHER
The museum will close in the event that the University of Missouri Kansas City closes and your tour will need to be rescheduled. If inclement weather prevents you from coming to the museum please e-mail the tour office Tours@nelson-atkins.org
For small events like bridal showers, office gatherings, birthday parties—celebrations of just about any kind—the Museum’s Event Planning Office can arrange preset meals in the restaurant to make the perfect accompaniment to your Museum tour.
