My photos are often vernacular and a high contrast of black and white. I choose to focus my audience’s attention on a person’s body language, because it’s something that people don’t often notice. By focusing on the figure I can tell more about a person than just by looking at their face. I like to show my audience feelings that may be hidden underneath. For this reason, I work with children and old and decayed looking places. They are both fragile and vulnerable. Kids are easier to hurt than adults. As the years go by children become more vulnerable and easier to break down unless you provide them with the nurturing they need. Like an old building, children need proper care so they won’t end up collapsing. If given this, they instead will be able to flourish and have a positive effect on our society.
