Egypt of the pharaohs, Monet’s Paris, ancient China and more—the Nelson-Atkins makes a memorable and highly instructive school trip. Expose your students to works by masters from many cultures, spanning 5,000 years.
The Nelson-Atkins offers free, one-hour docent-led tours to school groups, grades 3–12. Gallery docents use a variety of interactive, inquiry-based approaches in their teaching to spark curiosity, develop looking techniques and expand critical thinking skills. School tours examine artists, subjects, styles and techniques, and target specific grade levels.
School groups are welcome to visit the Museum on their own. We ask that all teacher-led tours be scheduled in advance. Visit Teacher-Led Tours for more information.
