Echoes: Islamic Art and Contemporary Artists

This exhibition tour offers a unique opportunity for students to investigate and answer the question, “What is Islamic art?” Historical objects and architectural pieces are installed alongside works by contemporary artists that employ traditional Islamic cultural style, materials and subject matter. Students will be encouraged to engage with these objects through looking and thinking strategies, collaborative discussions, sketching and storytelling activities as they discover the characteristics of Islamic art and culture.
