American Art: 1900-1945

Students will observe varied styles and techniques in American art and gain insight into how the contemporary American experience intersected with artistic expressions. Influences considered include World War I, the Depression, and World War II. Artists studied include George Bellows, Frederic Remington and Thomas Hart Benton.

Appropriate for grades: 4th-12th
Maximum students: 75

School tours are FREE, one hour and 15 minutes in length and are available for grades 2-12.

School groups may bring sack lunches and picnic on the grounds of the Kansas City Sculpture Park. Teachers are responsible for making alternate arrangements in inclement weather. There are limited facilities for students who are scheduled for an All-Day Visit to eat sack lunches inside the Museum. Request to eat indoors must be made at the time of registration and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
