Studio Workshops

Sign-up Online for School Workshops Download our Visit Guidelines.

Note: For groups of 30 or less there is limited workshop availability during April and May. Contact studioworkshops@nelson-atkins.org to check availability.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s studio workshops encourage interaction by inviting students to look at, analyze, experience and create art.

Using National Visual Art Standards as a foundation, each workshop combines a gallery learning activity with a related art process in the Ford Learning Center. These 90-minute hands-on workshops for Pre-K through 12th grade will complement and enhance your curriculum.

To learn more about Studio Workshops we offer, choose from the list below. Due to renovations, objects in the Egyptian and Ancient galleries will not be included in the workshops.

The cost of Studio Workshops is $6.50 per student with a minimum of 15 students.  Also, 1 adult must accompany every 10 students.

Box lunches can be ordered through Rozzelle Court Restaurant or sack lunches may be eaten in the Kansas City Sculpture Park. Please note there is no indoor facility where school groups may eat sack lunches.
