Support the Museum—Gift Planning

Each year, many friends of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art provide for the Museum through their wills, estate plans or life income arrangements. These gifts provide a lasting legacy for the Museum and the community.

All gifts, regardless of size, ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy great art and enriching programs. A commitment to the Museum also may help you achieve your financial goals.

We invite you to consider the following opportunities and join others by remembering the Nelson-Atkins as you plan for the future:

  • Bequests - provide for the Museum in your will
  • Life income plans - name the Museum as a beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust
  • Life insurance - designate the Museum as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy
  • IRA/retirement plans - select the Museum as a beneficiary of your IRA or retirement plan
  • Real estate and tangible personal property such as artwork - donations of real estate and tangible personal property (subject to the Museum’s acceptance) may offer estate tax saving as well as a current charitable deduction
Membership is automatically extended to those who inform us that they have made planned gifts benefiting the Museum.
