Explore the thriving art scene in Kansas City! This lively group visits local art studios, galleries and the various places that art can be found outside the walls of the Nelson-Atkins. Art About Town programs are a fun, intimate way of discovering the creativity of Kansas City.

Book Group
The Nelson-Atkins Book Group meets on a regular basis to discuss books and how they connect to the Museum's collection.
Led by a docent, this unique group will take a tour of selected works of art and then gather for a lively discussion of each book’s connection to those works, with other art and literature lovers.
Most books are availalbe for purchase in the Museum Store or at your local library.

Neoclassics
Meet new people and immerse yourself in arts and culture with the Neos, our group designed to accommodate members age 55 and older. Participate in weekday programs and activities such as Museum tours, private collection visits, charter bus day trips and more.

Young Friends of Art
Young Friends of Art is a coalition of professionals, graduate students, new residents and Kansas City natives in their 20s and 30s who are interested in social and art events. Active and energetic, YFA offers programs designed for every level of interest, schedule and budget. Annual events include Second Fridays and Party Arty.

Photography Society
In response to a strong expression of community interest, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has recently established a new special interest group, The Photography Society.
Photography Society Members play a key role in an exciting and multifaceted photography program at the Nelson-Atkins. The mission of the Photography Society is threefold: to support the Museum’s photography collection and department; to encourage personal collecting of photographs in the community; and to expand public knowledge of the art and history of the medium through educational programming.
Dues in addition to Museum membership are required.

Print Society
The Print Society is a dynamic organization that welcomes your active participation. Created in 1978 to stimulate appreciation of prints, to educate members about graphic techniques and to encourage print collecting, members of the Society convene for gallery walks, trips to printmakers’ studios, lectures, exhibits and demonstrations of printmaking techniques.
Dues in addition to Museum membership are required.
