The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art offers internships to individuals seeking valuable experience in their area of interest or study. Internship opportunities vary and go beyond the study of art history; firsthand experience ranges from clerical work to research and focused projects. Internships are typically unpaid, but students can arrange academic credit for their experience.
Internships usually occur in the summer and must be at least two months long. The majority of placements are seniors and graduate students.
Museum departments typically accepting interns are: education, Library, Photography, Imaging Services, Design, Marketing, Conservation, and Curatorial.
Students are responsible for their own transportation and housing arrangements.
