Trip Schedule for 2008

Piedmont & Liguria: Turin, Genoa & Portofino
May 19-29, 2008

Discover the Piedmont of northern Italy, the Ligurian coast and the small fishing villages of Cinque Terre. We begin in Turin with visits to the sumptuously decorated castles and hunting lodges of the Royal House of Savoy. We then travel south to the port city of Genoa and wander the narrow streets and grand palazzi of the patrons of Baroque art. Our trip concludes in Portofino with three nights at the world-famous Splendido Hotel. Catherine Futter, Helen Jane and R. Hugh "Pat" Uhlmann Curator of Decorative Arts will be our guide.

China: Horizons on the Yangtze River
Oct. 13-28, 2008

Explore China's unique culture, both ancient and contemporary. Our journey will take us to the political and commercial capitals of Beijing and Shanghai. We will see the legendary terra-cotta soldiers in the ancient capital of Xi'an and board the M.S. Victoria Anna for a three-night cruise on the majestic Yangtze River. Our four-night stay in Shanghai coincides with the Shanghai Biennale. Traveling with us will be China specialist Ross Terrill of the Fairbank Center for East Asian Research at Harvard University.
