Volunteer Guide Program—Teen Guide
A Teen Guide at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a seasonal, paid position. Those interested must be 15 to 18 years old, enrolled in high school and not yet graduated. Guides are selected through an interview process and space is limited. Teen Guides primarily give tours during the summer to children, and focus on the Museum’s outdoor and indoor Modern and Contemporary sculpture collection.
Those selected are required to attend training sessions prior to giving tours. Training will include curatorial lectures, tour focus, logistics and Museum knowledge.
