Student and Youth Programs

Family Field Trip Night
This annual spring event brings families to the Nelson-Atkins for a fun night of activities.

Girl Scouts Workshops
Visit the Nelson-Atkins for a workshop aligned with the Girl Scout handbook that provides steps in their program journey or completes requirements to earn a badge. Workshops available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts.

Homeschool Groups
Visit the Nelson-Atkins for special program activities for homeschool families.

New Dimensions Programs
6th – 12th grade student groups of 10 or more visit the museum and are encouraged to utilize technology to explore the museum’s collection.

Race Project
Workshops for high school students use artwork as catalysts for discussions around race and identity.

Thinking Through Art
Connecting art and critical thinking in the classroom.

Teen Programs
Teen events are adult supervised but designed for autonomous exploration of art and ideas.
