Explore the figure in front of the Nelson-Atkins’ greatest painted and sculpted works. This class for all skill levels gives students the opportunity to learn and discuss realistic figure drawing concepts and techniques. Class time will contain demonstrations, discussion and drawing practice with instructor input in the museum galleries. Discussion topics include: proportions of the body, understanding how the body is constructed and how to represent it in a drawing, the effects of light, and how mark-making can indicate form. All materials provided.
