Talk | The Newman US-China Poetry Dialogue

Tickets required, FREE
Rockhill Room

Please join us for an poetry reading celebrating the work of some of China’s most beloved living poets (Shu Ting, Zang Di, Yuan Tian, Chen Zongyi, Sun Xiaoya, Mu Ting) as they read their work (in Chinese and in translation) alongside American poets Megan Kaminski, Joseph Harrington, Cyrus Console-Şoican, Glenn Mott, Timothy Lantz). After the reading, visitors are invited to the museum’s Spencer Art Reference Library Reading Room to peruse a selection of publications highlighting the connections between poetry and image in Chinese Art.

The Newman US-China Poetry Dialogue brings together Chinese and American poets for a week of public conversations, readings, and workshops. Sponsored by the University of Oklahoma’s Institute for US-China Issues, the China Poetry Institute, and Beijing University, the US-China Poetry Dialogue seeks to foster cross-cultural understanding through the public humanities.

All proceeds from a book sale will help support public and library programs at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
