Ethereal inspiration and elation await at Party Arty: Myths and Muses, the Young Friends of Art’s signature fundraiser. Join our legendary pantheon of supporters who champion art education at the Nelson-Atkins for an epic evening of heavenly live entertainment and delicious delights.
Last year, more than 40,000 students ages three to 18 participated in Nelson-Atkins educational programs, from hands-on workshops and school tours to studio classes for all ages and abilities. Party Arty powers these programs, nurturing the next generation of art lovers and makers.

Dress the part
Choose your favorite figure from Greek or Roman mythology and bring them to life with grace, gusto, and gallantry. Be celestial and iconic, reverent and resplendent.
Dazzle and delight
Indulge in an evening of live music, dancing, photo ops, craft cocktails, and tasty treats between odysseys through our Ancient Art galleries.
A gift from the gods
Take advantage of our early-bird prices through Dec. 31 or ascend to VIP level for privileges befitting an otherworldly patron of the arts. VIP ticket holders get access to the party an hour early, specialty cocktails and light bites, an exclusive bar, a tarot card reading, and more. Regular pricing begins on Jan. 1 and continues while supplies last.

About Party Arty
Prepare to party with these tips and guidelines
- You must be 21 or over to attend. Ticket holders will need to present a valid photo ID to enter the event.
- Eat beforehand. Although light bites will be available at Party Arty, we strongly suggest eating before you arrive.
- Park for free in the museum’s garage. Free parking for Party Arty guests will be available starting at 7:30 pm on the night of the event. If you’re ride-sharing, plan to be dropped off and picked up at the circle drive of the Noth Plaza, near the reflecting pool.
- Your ticket includes complimentary cocktails (but not reentry to the party). Enjoy the open bar throughout the evening, but please note that if you leave the building, you won’t be able to reenter.
Costumes of mythical hues
The event is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. Dress in attire that evokes the personas and stories of these ancient tales: elaborate fabrics, shiny accessories, heroic headwear, brilliant makeup. For the safety of attendees and the art, please refrain from using glitter or masks for your outfit.
